My Spring 2020 Beauty Essentials

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and my skin care routine is changing up. With the temperatures changing, so does how I treat my skin for the following season. This spring my main focus for my skin is to not only soften my skin but to hydrate it as well! I usually have pretty dry skin, especially when coming out of the winter season. Here is a list of my 2020 beauty essentials!

*disclaimer: I am not a professional and all skin types are different. I suffer from dry skin so this is what works best for me! At the end of the day, I do recommend researching your skin type and what ingredients go into what because each product is different!!!*

1. A Jade Roller!!!!

Yes, if you have read ANY of my blog posts about any favorites or skin care products it's my freaking jade roller. This is an essential in my morning routine while my coffee is brewing. It is a great way to wake myself up along de-puffing my face. Plus, it's a mini massage! I'm all about that self-care lifestyle.

2. The Utopia Face Scrub (#shoplocal)

Okay, so during the quarantine stages I clearly did a number on purchasing beauty products for the blog. One of those being a handful of items from Hope Soap, a small business in Akron, Ohio. This business makes plant-based natural skin care and even hair care products. Plus, every item purchased, the business donates a bar of soap. In this case, I bought 4 products and they donated 4 bars of soap to someone in need. Not only do I love this mission, but the products are vegan and SUPER affordable.

One product I am dying to share with you guys is the Utopia Face Scrub. This scrub has grapefruit, bamboo, shea butter soap, coconut oil, vitamin E, raw sugar, and pink Himalayan salt to help soften and moisturizer your skin. I've only been using this product for a short time but I am seeing SUCH an improvement in my skin. I even got the Utopia Face Cream (I have a ton of moisturizers right now stocked up, so I haven't had a chance to use this one just yet... Stay turned for a review on it!)

I use this product roughly around two to three times a week. I personally don't feel like my skin needs it more than that. But after each use, my skin feels so soft.

3. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

The amount of people who reached out and told me how much they either love glossier or are on the fence about trying it is insane. I honestly didn't expect that many people to reach out about these specific products. But, I do have one thing to say about it: THEY ARE SO WORTH IT. To get a better understanding on what products you should invest in, make sure to take the skin care quiz. That's what I did!

I got three products, two of the three I have tried so far. I will say I haven't been using these products long but I truthfully have already seen such a difference in my skin it's unreal.

The Milky Jelly Cleanser is... a gift from the beauty gods. Yes, I said it. A little dramatic but if you aren't using this product you are seriously missing out. I am using this product every day even on the days when I am using my face scrub. This is a GAME CHANGER. It feels so soft on my skin and helps with moisturizing. To top off this top essential is the fact that it's so affordable. We all love that!

4. Glossier Priming Moisturizer

When I took the skin care quiz, I decided to do the skin care steps of only 3 (the third product is sunscreen but it's been cloudy so I am not using it yet). After I get out of the shower I'll put this moisturizer on and then once again in the morning when I think my skin needs some extra love.

So, I've been using a $40 Sephora employee recommended moisturizer for a few weeks now and it is not moisturizing the way I was hoping. Then I switched to the Priming Moisturizer and in just a short time, I've seen more improvement with this moisturizer than the other one I put a decent amount of money into. My skin not only looks smoother but it actually is!

5. Micellar Cleansing Water

I originally started using this because it was sent in an promotional package I had to do awhile ago. I never really tried it until I ran out of makeup wipes and honestly, I've never gone back to makeup wipes since. I use the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water to remove my makeup with (on days when I wear it). It feels super gentle on my skin and doesn't leave it feeling sticky like it does for makeup wipes.

Recently, I bought reusable pads to use instead of buying packages of cotton pads that I end up throwing away. In the next few weeks I will be doing a sustainable living post to talk more about the products I use!

I'll use those pads and the water when I want to remove makeup or just need to cleanse my skin in the morning.

Okay, am I the only one who's hands have seriously been effected from quarantine? Like I am washing my hands constantly and they're so dry it's frustrating. I'm currently using Hempz Natural Triple Moisture Herbal Whipped Body Cream (a mouth full, I know). I've used Hempz lotion before and truthfully I love their products. They not only smell good (the scent I have is giving me mad summer vibes) but I'm seeing improvements towards softer hands and legs!

7. Chapstick

Simple but quite the essential. My favorite is the Burt's Bees Coconut & Pear. It's refreshing and moisturizers my chapped lips! The winter really does a damage on my skin and yes that also includes my lips. Burts Bee's is one of my favorite chapstick companies. I've always loved what their products can do for me personally!

I'll be honest, my choice of beauty products does change frequently as I am always trying to use new products. There are SO many different types of products out there! I have a few more beauty products on the way (if you shopped the Sephora Sale... You know). Stay tuned for other posts involving other beauty products and then some!

What are your favorite spring beauty essentials for your beauty care routine? Let me know, I'm always up to try new products!
