Typical Morning Routine From Working From Home

Hello readers and happy Monday!! What better way to start off the new week than with a new blog post?! I know, I am gassing my blog up a little too much but hey, you're here reading this.

My last post, I share with you all a weeks worth of work from home comfy looks. I figured, let's keep the ball rolling with work from home insights. This weeks topic? Typical morning routine from working from home. I don't know about you guys, but I am a sucker for morning and evening routines (which I 100% plan on sharing with you all later down the road). Most of my blog content, I get inspired by from other content creators, and this is one of those really requested topics.

Everyone's morning routine looks different, especially when we are still in a global pandemic. At first, I had a hard time adjusting to a solid morning routine and just really rolled out of bed 3 minutes before I needed to clock in and start my day. Since then, I've built a solid routine that starts a specific time.

The reason I say typical morning routine is because there are days when I really can't get out of bed until the last possible second because I am so tired. On days like that, I try to catch up as much and as quickly as I can. But I'm not perfect, every morning isn't the same and that's okay. So, if you're reading this, don't feel obligated to perfect a morning routine. My morning is going to look different than yours! Most importantly, claim and celebrate the little victories you accomplish in the morning!

So, without a further ado, here is a glance at my typical morning routine - working from home edition.

7:00 am - My first alarm goes off every morning (yes, even on weekends) at 7:00am ton my Amazon Alexa that is right next to my bed. Typically, I put it on snooze for ten minutes and within those ten minutes I try and slowly wake up.

7:15am - My second alarm goes off on my phone which is across my room, forcing me to get out of bed. I've found that sleeping with my phone across the room increases the amount of sleep I get throughout the night. Plus, it's a way for me to wake my body up and forcing me to start moving on with my day.

7:20 am - This is roughly around the time I feed Tonks, my cat. Before I adopted him, the first thing I did was make my bed. However, he wants all the attention in the morning so I feed him first thing. While he is eating, I make my bed! If there is anything you want to take away from my morning routine, it's to make your bed. Seriously, it is the smallest thing but it really can set the mood for your day.

7:25am - I pour a glass of water and add some lemons. This is a new thing I've added into my routine as lemon water not only helps with your skin and digestive system, but it's also important to hydrate first thing in the morning!

7:30am - As I am sipping my lemon water, I clean my face with my favorite favorite favorite face wash, Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit Acne Prone Skin. I've been using this face wash for 2 years now and it's one of my holy grail beauty essentials. After I wash my face, I use a face toner from a local vendor that has aloe, rose water, and witch hazel, and then I moisturize!

7:40ish am - Once I'm done washing my face, I go to my desk and turn on my work computer so everything can get set up and running. While that is turning on, I go and make my breakfast. I usually eat the same breakfast. Some mornings I make avocado toast topped with Everything But The Seasoning, scrambled eggs and vegetarian sausage. If I don't have avocados, I make a small bagel with vegetarian sausage and I cut up a green apple. There really isn't much change when it comes to my breakfast on work days!

7:55ish am - This is right around the time where I finish eating and I've finished drinking my lemon water so I make a fresh pot of coffee and go back to my desk. As my coffee is brewing, I pull out my planner and go through what I need to do for the day or I take that time to write in my journal for a few minutes.

Around 8am-8:30am - Between 8am and 8:30am, my coffee is in my hands, I clock in, and I start my work day by checking/responding to my e-mails and then start my tasks I need to do for work.

And there you have it, a typical morning routine from working from home. Like I said, every morning is different but this is what I usually get done before I start working! Eventually, I would like to wake up at 6am and start doing other things in the morning like; going on walks, morning meditation, reading, work on my content creation before work so after work I can relax more, things like that!

How you spend your mornings can really set your mood for the day so I try to make the most out of my mornings so my mental health throughout the day continues to thrive. How do you spend your mornings? If you have a routine, what does your routine look like?
